Overview

The Almighty Minute ("we", "us", or "our") operates thealmightyminute.com. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to deliver the service:

  • Email address — collected when you voluntarily subscribe to our daily devotional newsletter. We store your email and a confirmation status in our database.
  • Interaction data — if you use the "like" feature on a verse, we store a record of that interaction in your browser's local storage only. This data never leaves your device.
  • Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained by our hosting provider (Vercel) for up to 30 days for security and performance purposes. We do not use this data to identify individuals.
  • Analytics & advertising data — to keep the site free, we use Google Analytics and Google AdSense. These services use cookies and similar technologies to measure traffic and serve ads. See the "Cookies & Advertising" and "Third-Party Services" sections below for details and your choices.

How We Use Your Information

  • To send you a daily devotional email (subscribers only, with your confirmed consent)
  • To send a one-time confirmation email when you subscribe
  • To process unsubscribe requests immediately upon request

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the site:

  • Resend (resend.com) — used to deliver email newsletters. Your email address is transmitted to Resend solely for the purpose of sending you the devotional. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare R2 — used to store and serve audio files. No personal data is stored in R2. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel — our hosting provider. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
  • MongoDB Atlas — database hosting for subscriber records and devotional content. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • Google Analytics (GA4) — used to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device type) so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies and may process your data in the United States. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out site-wide with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Google AdSense — serves the advertisements that keep this site free. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. See the "Cookies & Advertising" section below for how to control this.

Data Retention

Subscriber email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Upon unsubscribing, your record is marked inactive. You may request complete deletion by emailing us at the address below, and we will permanently delete your record within 30 days.

Your Rights

  • Unsubscribe — every email includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.
  • Access & deletion — you may request a copy of data we hold about you or ask for deletion by contacting us.
  • Correction — if your email is incorrect, simply unsubscribe and re-subscribe with the correct address.

Cookies & Advertising

The Almighty Minute is free and supported by advertising. To make that possible, we and our partners use cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies — a session cookie is set only when you sign in, to keep you logged in. Liked verses are stored in your browser's local storage, not cookies.
  • Analytics cookies — Google Analytics sets cookies to measure traffic and usage in aggregate.
  • Advertising cookies — Google AdSense and its partners use cookies, including Google's advertising cookies, to serve and personalize ads.

How Google uses advertising cookies. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

Your choices. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third party's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu (EU). You can also manage cookies in your browser settings. For more on how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see Google's advertising policies and the "How Google uses information from sites that use our services" page.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we request consent for non-essential cookies before they are set, in line with applicable law.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us their email, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
